Ness regularly catches the attention of the media, with articles and fashion features across the national press, in the likes of the Daily Mail, Daily Express, Best, Bella, She, Prima and Woman and Home. Our clothes have even made it onto national TV. Here’s a sample of just some of the coverage we’ve received in the last few months.

Tartan wellies are the star attraction
They are more likely to be found on those walking on muddy footpaths than treading the catwalk. But now a Scottish company is putting the humble welly on the feet of the rich and famous thanks to a distinctive tartan twist. Sales of the boots, made by Ness Clothing in Edinburgh, have rocketed since their launch two years ago. And with Ugly Betty star Ashley Jensen seen wearing them, they are fast becoming the practical footwear of choice for celebrities. TV presenter Lorraine Kelly and BBC newsreader Louise Minchin both have pairs. Adrienne MacAuley, who set up the company with her husband Gordon, said, ‘I was delighted and surprised too see Ashley wearing our boots. We wanted to make something in tartan that didn’t look as though you were on your way to a ceilidh and the boots were a natural choice.’

The couple, who have three stores in the capital and one in St Andrews, Fife, make the boots, which cost £40 a pair, by covering traditional wellies with tartan fabric, which is then treated with water resistant chemicals.

Mrs MacAuley is not certain how Miss Jensen, who lives in Los Angeles, got her boots. She said, ‘We are very busy during the Festival so it is likely she came in then.’

The must have look for this season is Tweed. With so many options available Flyer Newspaper has brought together just a hand picked selection from some of the gorgeous options available from Ness. You can choose from some super stocking fillers such as the Ness headband, purse or corsage. Friends and family will love the clutch bag with bow detail or our favourite, the Tweed wellington boots, they keep feet dry in the winter and then become the best Festival accessory ever. Gloves, scarves and faux fur-lined hats make great presents if not gifts you would like to receive yourself.

The wellington boots are my weekend staple. They’re so comfy and practical that I even wear them with dresses when I go to the village pub! I like these tartan fabric wellies from Ness with their clashing colours. I’m a great fan of bright shades – they make me feel happy!

Dear Ness
I love my jacket and wore it on air last week – and will do so again. Many thanks.
